Nobody ever wins a fight

  • Polls indicated that the initial reporting of Obama’s connection to Rev. Wright hurt him nationally and especially in Pennsylvania. In fact, Obama was down 15 points in Pennsylvania as of March 16. Polling after Obama’s speech, however, showed that he and Hillary are now in a statistical tie in Pennsylvania. It wasn’t all good news, however. This article says that of the people aware of the Obama-Wright situation and Obama’s speech, about 20 percent were more likely to vote for Obama and about 50 percent were less likely to vote for him. Obama’s speech was powerful and thoughtful and everything you’d want out of a political leader, but the net effect is that it will hurt him politically.
